Two Astronauts. One Church.

How a Texas congregation is supporting its members on the space station

Providence Baptist Church has two church members in outer space. NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Tracy Dyson are currently aboard the International Space Station, and their home church in Houston is figuring out how to keep them connected to the church body.

Both astronauts have spoken about their faith and how it influences their work in space. Dyson has discussed her job on a podcast, and Wilmore, who has been on the space station since early June, has expressed his trust in God's plan and his family's peace with his mission.

The congregation of the church has found unique opportunities to connect with the astronauts and shows support through care packages and video appearances during church services.
