After leaving social media in 2023, Rev. Dr. Cole Hartin says he has no regrets. He says doing so has been positive for his life and ministry.
Hartin highlights 4 ways he has changed since leaving social media behind. He writes . . .
I am less anxious.
I am exposed to less information.
The information I take in is curated.
I have more time for the things in life that matter.
Hartin says he feels more present with himself, his family, and the people he ministers to. A lot of information he encountered was useless and damaging, and not knowing about every negative thing happening in the world hasn’t diminished his life. Now he can seek to be helpful without being drawn into a darkness he can't control.
Hartin sees the information he now takes in as curated, and he has more time for personal relationships and writing meaningful content.
Knowledge divorced from love and relationship is dangerous, Hartin believes—it can lead to hatred and destruction. Instead, to cultivate wisdom, Hartin has made his exit, and sought to root himself in love and the fear of the Lord.
He’s not looking back.
