Digital Justice Training Course
“Just Digital” course launched to help ecumenical users navigate wisely online
The World Association for Christian Communication (WACC) has launched an online course called “Just Digital” in collaboration with the Association of Protestant Churches and Missions in Germany (EMW) and the World Council of Churches (WCC).
The collaboration between the three organizations aims to address the justice issues raised by digital transformation and promote rights, equality, accountability, and participation in the digital age.
The first module of Just Digital, called “Big Issues in Small Bytes,” focuses on equipping learners with core digital literacy skills. The course consists of three sessions that introduce key concepts related to digitalization and provide perspectives from global experts.
Participants learn tips and actions to protect their online data, recognize and combat fake news, and exercise freedom of expression responsibly.
Three Sessions
“Cookies are never free”
“Don’t take me for a fool”
“What can I say? My rights, your rights”
Each session takes under an hour to complete, and learners who finish all sessions are recognized as Digital Justice Champions.
The course aims to help individuals and communities worldwide become informed users and advocates for digital justice. It emphasizes a fun approach to applying ethics to digital tools and highlights the wealth of expertise and perspectives from different regions of the world.
A second module of the course will launch later this year, focused on advocating effectively.
